Price of Amazon Prime goes to $99 – Lock In Lower Rate Now!

Update: Today is the final day to lock in amazon Prime at the the lower rate! Even if you already have Prime, you can keep it at the lower rate for as long as you wish via the method below!
—————————————

Back in January, during a stockholder quarterly earnings report conference call, Amazon announced that they were considering raising the price of Amazon Prime. Well, Amazon has apparently kept their word and has now raised the price of the Prime membership by $20, from $79 to now $99, and for Amazon Student Prime from $39 to now $49 per year.

Capture8Amazon Prime is a subscription that includes free two-day shipping with no minimum order required on over 19 million items sold by Amazon! It also includes unlimited instant streaming of thousands of movies and TV shows with Prime Instant Video, and a free kindle e-book library!

Now, if you are not yet an Amazon Prime member, you can still subscribe for $79 per year if you do so soon!

If you are already an Amazon Prime member, if your renewal date hits before April 17th, your renewal rate will be $79. If your renewal date is April 17th or after, you will be renewed at the higher fee (though this may vary from account to account, check your emails). Good news is though, there is a workaround for the time being that will take about a minute of your time, and will lock in the Amazon Prime membership for as long as you eant, at the lower rate!
Here’s the workaround:

  1. Click here and select “End Membership”.
  2. On the next screen select “End Later”. (The date it ends will vary depending on your account). This selection ensures that you will not be auto renewed at the higher rate, but will keep your Prime benefits active.
  3. Purchase as many gift subscriptions to Amazon Prime via this link as you’d like to lock in the $79 rate, (each subscription is good for one year).
  4. You will receive an email with a special link that gives Prime membership to whatever account opens it. –  You can choose to send the Prime gift to your own email and file it away until you are ready to use, or you can send it to a friends email etc; – These gift memberships never expire until redeemed. They will always be good for a full year!
  5. Whenever your subscription ends you can simply click on the special link from the email and activate another year of Prime.

~ Another option for a reduced rate is Amazon Prime Student. Amazon Student will basically give you the same benefits of Prime but costs just $49 a year — after the FREE 6 month trial! If you sign up for Amazon Student within the next few days, it’ll only be $39!  Amazon Prime Student is officially intended for college students, but technically open to anyone with a .edu email address.

~ Amazon Mom: You also get all prime benefits with Amazon Mom, But Amazon Mom will also give you 20% off diapers, wipes and some other household products! And Amazon Mom isn’t just for moms: You can sign up whether you are a mom, father, step parent, family member or other caregiver and all you need to do is enter the child’s name, gender and birthday. Amazon Mom can still be locked in for $79 a year, if you sign up soon!
