Update: Expired
For a limited time only, you can earn 70,000 bonus miles for opening a Barclaycard Arrival® Plus World Elite Mastercard® and spending $5,000 within the first 3 months. This is the highest ever signup bonus offered for this card!
After spending the $5,000 within 3 months, you’ll have a total of 80,000 points!
You can earn this bonus even if you have had this card in the past, though if you currently have this card open, you won’t be able to earn the bonus.
The Barclaycard Arrival Plus World Elite Mastercard is from one of the best cash back credit cards out there for everyday purchases. It offers a nice 2 percent cash-back in the form of points on all purchases! Plus you’ll get an additional 5% back upon redeeming your points, so effectively you are getting a nice 2.11% back on all purchases.
Miles don’t expire as long as your account is open, active and in good standing
There is also a 0% introductory APR for 12 months on Balance Transfers made within 45 days of account opening.
The $89 annual fee is waived to first year and there is no foreign transaction fees.
The best way to redeem your points for full value, is to redeem them for travel related expenses. Any time you have a “travel” charge of $100 or more to your card, you will have the option of receiving a statement credit towards the travel expense at a value of 1 cent per point (+ you’ll get the 5% back).
For example if you spend $600 dollars on a plane ticket and have 60,000 points from the bonus from opening the card, you’ll be able to get a $600 cash refund. Plus, you’ll also get 3,000 points redeposited to your account worth $30.
You can also redeem your points for statement credits, gift cards and merchandise, though you won’t get the full value of 1 cent per point with these redemption.
Travel expenses include: Airlines, Hotels, Motels, Timeshares, Campgrounds, Car Rental Agencies, Cruise Lines, Travel Agencies, Discount Travel Sites, Trains, Buses, Taxis, Limousines, Ferries and your account annual fee. The travel can be booked via any booking site or straight from the agency etc;. (You can also of course just book a refundable plane ticket to redeem your points, and once the points are redeemed, you can simply cancel the refundable ticket.)
